Born and raised in the lively metropolis of Chicago, Illinois, Jordan Terell Jones, known as “Jordan Terell," is a charismatic young man exploring the world through dance, photography, music, and visual arts. Full of energy, Jordan spent his younger years training intensely in track and field. While the sport kept him busy and offered him prospects of going professional, something in his heart was searching for more. It was the release of the Disney movie, High School Musical, that gave him the answer. The movie musical inspired him to become a dancer and taught him that no one is confined to being just one thing.

In 2007, his official introduction to dance came when he joined the hip-hop group called The Happiness Club. With Tanji Harper at the helm, Jordan performed at events local to Chicago such as Lollapalooza, Disney’s Magnificent Mile Parade, and with Pink Floyd during their “Off The Wall” tour. The Happiness Club also granted Jordan the opportunity of performing annually for President Obama during the White House’s Easter Egg Roll. Jordan also joined The Chicago Bullskidz, a youth ensemble that performed during halftimes and timeouts at Chicago Bulls games. Although it was still early in Jordan’s  dancing career, the director allowed him to choreograph many sections and parts of the routines. Jordan was eventually promoted to dance captain during his time with the Bullskidz.

Jordan was accepted to The Chicago Academy of the Arts, Chicago’s premiere performing arts high school, where he explored other styles of dance and furthered his education. During his time at The Academy, Jordan training in classical ballet, modern, and jazz. He learned extensively from teachers such as Randy Duncan, Natalie Rast, and Deborah Goodman.

Jordan knew that dance was his true passion and auditioned around the country for many schools. He decided to cultivate new roots in Pittsburgh, PA where he pursued his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at Point Park University. His training spanned under faculty such as Mark Burrell, Jason McDole, Kiesha Lalama, and Jim Cooney. Along with performing works of Septime Webre and Anthony Tudor.

While at Point Park, Jordan booked his first contract with Norwegian Cruise Lines as a dancer. His stent with the cruise line was cut short due to the global pandemic. Throughout the pandemic, he remained dedicated to honing his dance skills through online classes and choreography. As the pandemic started to recede, Jordan booked another contract with Norwegian. With featured roles in Swing! The Musical and the other production shows.

Near the end of his recent contract, an unexpected injury caused him to take a break from performing. During his time off, he continued to refine his artistry through self creations and teaching. Jordan choreographed and instructed at the Joffrey Ballet Chicago and other dance studios. Amidst all of this while healing, he was able to dance on stage with Katy Perry. This moment motivated him to continue training, creating, and building goals that would expand his future. After a full recovery he started teaching jazz funk, hip hop, and heels, at Dance Forever studio. He then also started teaching at The Puzzle Box Dance Studio after being a member of their company.
